Untitled Poem 2
By Carl Annarummo

The two of them chased dads for cash.
His own father was shoved down a well;
most ended up fleeing down the hill. As
night fell, the dads would tiptoe back
into town in hysterics. It was, afterall,
exciting to be chased out of town. The
wives, they didn’t understand so they’d
chase both father and son out of town.
One father got on a train. His two sons
vanished. The daughters didn’t get this
either so they sulked in large groups until
the police chased them away. Everyone
suddenly became a bastard. Then a few
fathers began trickling back in, and sons
with mothers were shunned and in a few
extreme cases, were chased out of town.
