The Freefly Alta 8 Drone has a multi-rotor design that has immense power and has amazing flight control.
It features a fast setup and breakdown process, allowing you to use the included hard case efficiently. It has also been created to have an optimal strength-to-weight ratio, and thus features a light airframe, allowing for a higher payload.
It is also equipped with weather resistant electronics since the internal distribution board has a weather seal and is conformal coated.
Its biggest advantage is that it can be used with a separately available MoVI gimbal, allowing the drone to mount a camera on top or below the airframe. Aerial imagery in almost any angle is possible due to this flexibility of configuration, providing an all around view.
The compatible MoVI gimbals are easy to attach and remove due to Freefly's Toad in the Hole mounting. The drone’s Vibration Isolation System also helps in reducing high frequency disturbances and that adds to the stability already provided by the gimbal.

The drone can carry a maximum payload of 20 lb. that is 5 lbs. over their previous model, the Freefly Alta 6 Drone due to the addition of 2 more powerful motors. Thus, it can be mounted with a range of different camera options like DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, or compact cinema cameras, apart from just action cameras.
The Freefly Alta 8 Drone features Silent Drive Technology that uses sine wave drive motor controls with active braking, allowing the Alta 8 to have low noise and precise, closed loop control of the propellers. Users can even customize the LED color scheme on the drone as per your piloting preferences using the Alta application.
It uses the companies own Freefly Synapse flight control system that allows the Alta 8 to operate with various transmitters, such as Futaba and Spektrum. The drone also features a variety of flight modes that facilitate a better flying experience. These include Climb Rate Control, Manual, Return-To-Home, Height Hold, Auto-land, Ground Speed Control and Position Hold.
For monitoring the video and FPV, the remote controller can work with systems from Immersion RC, Skyzone, Fatshark and BOSCAM. The OSD display can be user-configured, while telemetry and flight data can be seen on compatible Futaba transmitters.
The intelligent flight control system also makes executing complex flight patterns much easier, since it combines gyros as well as other sensors with proprietary control algorithms. You will also have access to high speed data logging that can be used for user analysis of important flight data.
