GoPro action cameras are extremely well known in the world of sports and action cameras, but the SJCAM series of cameras have come at par with these devices as a good alternative to the GoPro.
Both companies are going head to head in the market, with GoPro being one of the most trusted brands to choose from and SJCAM being feature rich and affordable. The GoPro Hero 4 series is one of the best from the company, while SJ5000 series is best from SJCAM.

Here we compare the Silver edition of the GoPro Hero 4 series with the SJ5000 +. Looks wise both the cameras look similar but what features they hold inside differs to quite an extent.
The GoPro camera is equipped with an Ultra Wide FOV while the SJ5000 has a 170 degree A+ HD wide-angle lens. The Hero 4 is capable of recording videos in 4k in 3840 x 2160 resolution at 15 fps, while the SJCAM only has high resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps.
But on the other hand, the SJ5000 + has a 16 MP camera with maximum resolution of 4000 x 3000 with photo burst options for 10 photos per 1 second, and the GoPro has a lesser 12MP camera of 4608 x 3456 resolution with 30 photos per 1 second.
The GoPro Time Lapse options include 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 and the SJCAM has 1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 60. While both cameras include Wi-Fi function, only the SJ5000 + has GPS for logging. The GoPro Hero 4 Silver is waterproof till 40 m and the other is only waterproof till 30 m with case.
As for the battery, both use a Li-ion rechargeable battery, but the GoPro has 1160 mAh that lasts for 2 hours at 4k recording, while SJCAM uses 900 mAh that lasts for 1.10 hours at 1080p recording resolution.
