So you eat healthy, work out religiously, but no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to get rid of stubborn cellulite. You’ve even tried topical creams but nothing seems to help.  The truth is 90% of women have cellulite. For some women, they develop cellulite in their teens, but many women start to see an increase in their mid-20s to mid-30s.

Technology advancements in medical laser devices offer women and men dealing with stubborn fat or cellulite various options to reduce or eliminate unwanted fat deposits.

Smartlipo

Smartlipo is a minimally invasive laser assisted liposuction treatment that uses an Nd:YAG laser. During this procedure a board certified doctor makes a small incision in the area to be treated and inserts a tube where the laser is inserted.  The laser heats up the stubborn fat cells and basically breaks them down so that they melt away. As the laser moves around it also comes into contact with the epidermis stimulating collagen production which tightens skin.

Radiofrequency (RF) Devices

Aesthetic equipment using radiofrequency (RF) technology offers individuals with stubborn cellulite a means to reduce the appearance of mild cases of cellulite problems. It can also be used to contour the body.  Systems such as the Accent, VelaShape, Velasmooth and Thermage use RF energy to disrupt fat cells by heating them up and breaking them down. Collage production kicks in, which helps tighten the skin so it looks smoother and less dimpled. This is a completely non-invasive treatment that uses a hand held device that is moved back and forth over the treatment area. Multiple treatment sessions are required to achieve desired results.

Cellulaze

Cellulaze is one of the latest cosmetic laser devices to hit the market. It’s minimally invasive and works best on women who have mild or moderate levels of cellulite. This medical device uses an Nd:YAG laser and designed to specifically target cellulite issues.  It is an add-on component to the Smartlipo platform and works by being inserted very close to the under skin.  The laser fires sideways and basically severs the fibrous bands that hold cellulite in place. The end result is thicker skin (cellulite attaches to thin loose skin), smoother looking skin and a reduction of bumpy cellulite deposits. One treatment session is required vs RF devices.
